Destination Wedding in Ravello
I was delighted when Crystal and Nicholas reached out to me to become their destination wedding photographer.
Both Crystal and Nicholas are from the UK and were in love with the idea of a destination wedding in Ravello. The idea of a no fuss wedding with their nearest and dearest sounded like a dream.
For me, as a destination wedding photographer, a destination wedding always seems to be more about the bride and groom and everyone enjoying every moment, instead of the usual pressures to conform to other people’s ideas.
This destination wedding in Ravello was exactly this and both the couple and their guests definitely had a lot of fun.
Hotel Marmorata
For the couples destination wedding in Ravello, Crystal chose to get ready at the same place the wedding reception would take place, Hotel Marmorata. I am sure you can see why….Hotel Marmorata has stunning views of the Amalfi Coast, where the sky and sea seem to romantically embrace. Hotel Marmorata is a stunning venue for a destination wedding in Ravello as this hotel seems to almost float effortlessly in the Ravello cliff face.
The elegant bride…with her make-up complete and fabulous bridal gown on (from Essence of Australia)…was ready to make her way to the beautiful church.
Church of Santa Trofimena
The church of Santa Trofimena is simply breath-taking and is a joy for any destination wedding photographer….Grand with its high ceilings and gold panelling, yet somehow warm and inviting.
As the couple said their “I do’s” happiness from their guests embraced the newlyweds.
The Reception and Evening
As guests arrived at Hotel Marmorata, everyone was so excited to celebrate the special union of Crystal and Nicholas.
The food was served in a fantastic terrace dining room with romantic views out to sea and all of the guests clearly enjoyed every mouthful.
Hotel Marmorata encouraged the couple to cut their elegant cake down on the carved verandas almost at sea level. As the couple cut into the cake they were surprised by fantastic fireworks out at sea planned especially for their wedding day.
After this huge excitement, all of the guests and bride and groom were really in the mood to dance the night away.
As the couples destination wedding photographer, it was magical to watch Crystal and Nicholas embrace with their new connection whist they laughed and danced, knowing their special day was complete.
