Wedding at the Abbey of San Galgano
As a well-known wedding photographer in Tuscany, I was so excited when Surryia and Joe
invited me to photograph their wedding at The Abbey of San Galgano in the province of
Siena, in Tuscany.
The Monastery dates back to the 13th century and the church was the first gothic church to
be built in Italy. As a Tuscany wedding photographer, I know the amazing atmosphere and
lighting this unique roofless ruin retains. Its magnificent stone archways are extraordinarily
beautiful and a stunning backdrop, as I’m sure any Tuscany wedding photographer would
agree.
Surryia and Joe are the definition of love and romance. On the very day they met, Joe asked
Surryia to marry him and with the 7 years that followed they have explored over a dozen
countries. With their love of food, culture, wine and history it is no surprise to me, as a
wedding photographer in Tuscany, that they were drawn to Italy to share their experiences
with their friends and family on their special day.
The Morning
To me, as the couples chosen wedding photographer in Tuscany, it was obvious that Surryia
was surrounded by love and laughter from her closest loved ones at Le Pozze di Lecchi
whilst getting ready for her big day. The reception would be held here after their wedding
at The Abbey of San Galgano.
As their Tuscany wedding photographer I could see the details and colour theme start to
unfold in this very room….with matching dresses worn in different styles by the 4
bridesmaids, accompanied by two beautiful flower girls dressed in lace that matched
Surryia’s stunningly, elegant Anne Barge dress.
Joe prepared for the big day with all of his 7 ushers. Joe had a classic white bespoke suit
from Book a Tailor in New York. His ushers all wore matching light blue suits and together
made my job, as their wedding photographer in Tuscany, easy as they all looked effortlessly
stylish.
The Ceremony
With my Tuscany wedding photographer experience, the ceremony of the wedding at The
Abbey of San Galgano was beautifully peaceful. You enter along a tree-lined drive
amongst stunning scenery and as a Tuscany wedding photographer I adore this calm,
romantic atmosphere.
As Surryia walked down the stone arch columned isle…Joe was obviously moved. The
ceremony, by Simona Coltellini, was a beautiful start to the celebrations.
The Reception and Evening
All of the guests were greeted at Le Pozze di Lecchi by Graziella Daniele, the fantastic
wedding planner at the villa. As friends and family sat down to dinner at long tables
adorned with elegant white flowers and romantic candles, I was able to capture some
intimate shots, as their Tuscany wedding photographer, of the newly married couple sat at
the front beaming with love.
Everyone enjoyed the exquisite food after the wedding at The Abbey of San Galgano and
were thrilled to have chefs prepare magnificently layered pancakes as the wedding cake.
The evening provided some fantastic shots for me as their Tuscany wedding
photographer…Surryia had changed into a new stunning, lace dress (by Grace Loves Grace)
and everyone danced the night away.
Being Surryia and Joe’s Wedding Photographer in Tuscany
Being Surryia and joe’s wedding photographer in Tuscany was fantastic.
As soon as I met Surryia and Joe I knew their love would shine through in my
photojournalistic style.
I was confident that my natural, un-posed shots would fit perfectly with their wedding at
The Abbey of San Galgano and their fun personalities
I adored every moment of being their wedding photographer in Tuscany at this unique
wedding at The Abbey of San Galgano.
